ReCON: Adhesive posterior overlays and contemporary biomimetic dentistry

Read the name twice. Reconnaissance: survey the tooth before you cut, because the defect decides the preparation, Reconstruction: rebuild exactly what was lost, bond it properly, and preserve all that you can. Two days, the complete indirect workflow, from diagnosis, contemporary adhesive biomimemtic science and protocols, first bur, immediate dentine sealing, deep margin elevation, isolation to final cure.
Course outline
Whatever level you're at, there's one above it.
reCON is built for all skill levels, deliberately. If you have never placed an indirect adhesive restoration, you will build the workflow from first principles: where the margins go, how deep is deep enough, and a cementation sequence with the guesswork removed. If overlays are already in your week, you will refine the levels above: immediate dentine sealing done properly, prep geometry that gives your ceramist or your mill something to work with, and delivery under isolation that makes post-op sensitivity a story you used to tell. The philosophy holds at every level: the defect defines the preparation. Survey first, cut what the tooth needs, bond what the tooth lost, and not a cusp more. This is not a CEREC course… whatever your workflow we have you covered. If you are doing chair-side already get ready to pick up plenty of extra tips and tricks, including how to stain and glaze your restorations with the reCon recipe.
The two days
Each module pairs a crafted lecture with a bench exercise built specifically for it: learn the level, then reach it with a handpiece in hand.
Day 1 · Foundations and preparation. Adhesive science and bonding theory, done properly rather than by product or instagram folklore. Caries removal end-points: knowing where to stop. The defect-driven preparation philosophy: partial coverage versus overlay versus the crown you didn't need to cut. Material selection and when each ceramic earns its place. Immediate dentine sealing: the rationale and the written step-by-step. At the bench: guided prep design on models, defect by defect, with one-on-one feedback, then IDS and provisionalisation on your own preparations. Every prep is scanned for you to visualise in high-resolution 3D. We will then prepare your restoraitons to fit to your preps so you can be ready to deliver them the following day.
Day 2 · Delivery. Try-in and fit verification. Isolation that holds for the whole appointment. Ceramic conditioning: etching, silanising, and the surface science behind both. The adhesive cementation sequence, demonstrated live, then executed by you: seating, heated-composite cementation protocol, clean-up, occlusal refinement, polish. Post-bonding control and the review protocol. Then the conversation layer: fee setting and communication scripts for presenting indirect adhesive dentistry honestly, with genuine off-ramps. I have never placed an indirect adhesiveLY BONDED restoration. Can I attend?

Yes, by design. The course assumes competence with direct restorations and rubber dam, then builds the indirect workflow from first principles. The bench work is sequenced so nobody is left behind.
I already place overlays. What's here for me?

The levels above: IDS executed properly, prep geometry refined against real defect patterns, and a delivery sequence most clinicians have assembled from fragments rather than learned as a system. Experienced delegates consistently tell us Day 2 changed their protocol.
How hands-on is it, really?

You prepare multiple defect-driven cases on Day 1 and take a restoration from conditioning through bonded, finished delivery on Day 2. The entire workflow passes through your hands. You will complete a deep margin elevation exercise on the models, scan your own preps, be involved in the design process and even bond multiple restorations side by side on your own prepared models under ideal rubber dam isolation.
What happens after the course ends?
