the COMPLETE Hard & Soft Tissue Masterclass
A 4-day intensive course of lectures and hands-on exercises designed to improve the skills of dentists as it relates to hard and soft tissue augmentation procedures around both teeth and implants. Delegates will acquire the skills and knowledge to accurately diagnose, classify and manage hard tissue alveolar defects, as well as soft tissue mucogingival defects around both teeth and implants.
reGen - the Hard Tissue Masterclass
A thorough review of bone biology will provide delegates with the foundations to familiarise themselves with the fundamental concepts pertaining to bone augmentation techniques and procedures.
Bone augmentation presents as one of the most challenging aspects of implant dentistry. Many complications can arise, and the complications can be severe. This course is designed to equip delegates with a number of techniques that will enable dentists to manage the majority of cases commonly seen in clinical practice. Dentists will develop the knowledge and clinical skills required to execute methods of autogenous bone harvesting, lingual flap release, as well as advanced flap management to ensure predictable ridge augmentation utilising a variety of techniques. Different techniques for horizontal and vertical bone augmentation are discussed in great detail, along with respective decision trees for their application. This is followed by an in depth discussion of common complications associated with these techniques and how to avoid them.
Learning Objectives
Understand the principles and factors necessary for the success of any bone grafting procedure
How to diagnose and classify bone defects based on a proposed classification
How to manage horizontal and vertical bone defects based on presented decision trees
Review of Biomaterials (bone and membranes) – what, when and how?
How to harvest particulate autogenous bone and autogenous bone blocks
How to graft the maxillary sinus utilising both the trans-crestal and lateral window approach
How to augment compromised Sockets at the time of extraction
How to manage buccal and lingual flaps for predictable primary closure
Advanced Suturing Techniques
How to avoid complications and protocols for their management
Hands-On Workshop
enHance - the Soft Tissue Masterclass
A thorough review of soft tissue biology will provide delegates with the foundations to familiarise themselves with fundamental concepts that relate to a range of perio-plastic procedures commonly used in both root coverage, as well as gingival augmentation around both teeth and implants.
Soft tissue defects commonly exist around both teeth and implants which can often lead to a decline in periodontal health and potential tooth loss; as well as compromised peri-implant tissue health that may further lead to both aesthetic and functional implant complications or failure.
This course is designed to present delegates with a range of microsurgical principles that will equip clinicians with the knowledge and clinical skills to safely and predictably harvest autogenous soft tissue grafts. Clinicians will become competent in harvesting autogenous tissue grafts from the palate, the tuberosity, as well as alternative donor sites for use in an array of periodontal-plastic procedures performed around tooth borne mucogingival defects, and for the augmentation of peri-implant tissues.
Learning Objectives
Classification of Mucogingival Defects
How to diagnose soft tissue deficiencies, when to intervene, and how to treatment plan accordingly
Microsurgical Instrumentation & Armamentarium
Understand the determinants of mucogingival health and stability around both teeth and implants
Review of Soft Tissue Substitutes commonly used - what, when and how?
Master a range of Incision & Flap Designs for Hard & Soft Tissue Procedures
Comprehend the importance of proper suturing technique and microsurgery
How to safely and predictably harvest soft tissue grafts from a range of donor sites
Understand and visualise the step by step protocol for a variety of soft tissue techniques
